The Big Night

It was a success! Chris had his reception tonight and we had a fairly good turnout. We think about 60 people came, and sold almost 30 pots. We missed some of our friends just coming to look, but it's a busy time of year. We had a great time! Here are some pictures I took. Once again, I'm not the best at photographing pottery, but I got pictures of most of it so you can see what Chris has been working on for the last few months! I'll write more details later. I just wanted to post the pictures. I do see, however that I didn't take a picture of the FOOD that I'VE been working on for weeks! Let's just say, the food was good too!

Here we are, all dressed up for the big event.

This is Elsa mid-"cheeeese". The kids stayed for about the first hour, then headed home to the babysitter!

Some raku pottery

and some high fire stoneware

I think that's most of the pots that we had! What a great night! We're now looking forward to a RELAXING Thanksgiving at home!

Hi All,
This is Chris posting. I just wanted to say that it really is too bad that Audra did not take any pictures of the food! It was incredible and very well presented. I wish we had taken some pictures of the show while it was going on. The place I had the show was an old coffee shop. Audra says I should just put this in the blog....

AWESOME pots Chris! I especially love the Raku. Wow I wish I could afford to buy handmade pottery.

Chris,
I really miss seeing your pottery! I loved the purchases I made last year. You really need to get a web site going and some online store for fans from a distant location. OK, maybe I am being selfish for my own purchases.
Audra, did you make the delicious leche cake? You know how I love it!
Miss you! Love, Lisa

Wow! Those pots look awesome! Looks like you have been working hard. I am glad that you had a good turnout! I recognize the horse hair pots like the ones we made at the family reunion. We have ours displayed on our mantle with the names JV made for us. By the way, we were wondering what you charge for your pottery, we are interested in buying some.

Chris I love your pottery and that you are still able to do work and fire your pottery.. Since we have moved to the desert I have yet to find a place that I can fire. I think I may have to break down and buy a kiln.. the trick is coming up with the space and the moolah! Great work and such variety too, Ahh it reminds me of the good old days! ☺
