FLOATING Pumpkin Patch

Well, we have an awesome recreation department here (wink, wink) and last night we went to the floating pumpkin patch in the pool. Elsa had a great time swimming around. She was so excited that she talked about it all day. She LOVES swimming, but we don't go very often (it's not my preferred form of exercise). Plus, she only lasts about 20 minutes until she is blue-lipped and completely shivering. Here is the pumpkin she chose. It was a lot of fun, and quite a few people came (there were 36 kids who got pumpkins-that's quite a few here in our little town)!

Yes! They are real pumpkins. Pumpkins do float. We do a similar thing at our Harvest party (Halloween Party). Instead of the germ infested apple bob, we do a small pool filled with floating gourds. The kids pick a gourd and then receive a prize depending on the # written on the gourd.
