Well, we have an awesome recreation department here (wink, wink) and last night we went to the floating pumpkin patch in the pool. Elsa had a great time swimming around. She was so excited that she talked about it all day. She LOVES swimming, but we don't go very often (it's not my preferred form of exercise). Plus, she only lasts about 20 minutes until she is blue-lipped and completely shivering. Here is the pumpkin she chose. It was a lot of fun, and quite a few people came (there were 36 kids who got pumpkins-that's quite a few here in our little town)!
Welcome to our blog. We hope you enjoy it. We blog mainly as a way to keep in touch with our far away family members, but have enjoyed keeping up with friends as well. We'd love to hear from you, so please comment. If you would like to link us on your blog, please don't use our last name or location. Thanks.

darn. we forgot. And YES we do have an awesome recreation director.
were those real pumpkins? so cool!
Way cool idea! Looks like a lot of fun... I guess we need to find a pumpkin patch to go check out!
man, we need a rec director as good as yours, what a cool idea!!
Yes! They are real pumpkins. Pumpkins do float. We do a similar thing at our Harvest party (Halloween Party). Instead of the germ infested apple bob, we do a small pool filled with floating gourds. The kids pick a gourd and then receive a prize depending on the # written on the gourd.

That is just the coolest idea! WHo knes that pumpkins floated? Of course, it only makes sense upon reflection.
What a fantastic idea! Sounds like fun to me! Way to go Chris with the cool ideas!
How exciting!! Good job Elsa in your choice of pumpkins. Hope you have fun on Halloween!
