Finally the day arrived to go get the pigs. We made some calls and found a pet store in a neighboring town that had three guinea pigs. While we drove over, the kids watched the movie SPIRIT. We got into the store and Elsa was captivated by the guinea pigs. Gibson was interested in the whole store. He kept wandering off to see all the other animals. The kids each got to chose a guinea pig. We got them loaded up and got the appropriate gear and headed home. On the way home we talked about naming the pigs. Both kids wanted to name their guinea pigs "molly". I nixed it since it was a girls name and both the pigs are boys. Finally Gibson chose the name WALL-E and Elsa chose the name Spirit. My kids must be influenced by movies.
The kids are doing really well with their pets. Amazingly of all the the things I am allergic to, I am not allergic to guinea pigs. Elsa has done really well as a pet owner. She memorized the care video we watched. She kept quoting the funniest things from it. Apparently that had a really big impact on her. So far they have been good pets.
Here is Elsa holding WALL-E
Here is Gibman with WALL-E
And finally here is Spirit

Happy Day!! They look so sweet holding their guinea pigs. Hope they have fun with them. Good job Elsa and Gibson.
That's great! Happy pet ownership :).
congrats on your new additions! Do they poop on you when you hold them? Make sure they stay out of the dryer functions, if they are anything like hamsters, they don't mix well with dryers!
We finally decided to get a pet too. We got a rabbit. I like the colors of Wall-e. Have fun!
At least you got two males...we might be in the guinea pig business thanks to Grandpa...do you know how old yours are? Mine are smaller, and I am trying to determine the age. Have fun!
