This morning we were up early! Chris had to be at the track to prep the triathlon. I had been "training" to do the super-sprint triathlon which is a 6mile bike, 2mile run, and 1/4 mile swim, but then changed a few days ago. I ended up doing the running leg of a full triathlon-a 6 mile run-. I was pretty concerned about it. I haven't been doing the best at exercising the last couple of weeks, so I wasn't sure how it was going to go. I actually was kinda excited to just do the running instead of the super sprint because I AM NOT a swimmer. I went twice to try and lap swim and thought I would die! I really admire swimmers-that is a full body workout! However, I was still not very excited about running 6 miles. I hadn't ran 6 miles since last year when I did the triathlon. I'll (shamefully) admit that I practically cried myself to sleep last night because I was dreading today. It was good I was part of a team, or I maybe even would have "weenied-out". Anyway, I got Elsa and Gibson ready and we made it to the track. I thought my biking teammate would be a lot faster than she was. I kinda got tired of waiting, so I just started my running leg. All the other teams and triathletes were almost finished before I even started running, and I didn't want to be running in the middle of the day. So, off I went! I kept a fairly steady 10 minute mile pace-pretty good for this old momma! For some reason the 2nd and 5th mile took me 12 minutes, but oh well! I finished my leg in 1 hr. 4 min. Last year it took me 58 min. I felt like that was pretty good-only 6 minutes slower! One of friends pointed out that if you added on a minute every mile every year....well, let's just say in a few more years, that would be a pretty slow run! My favorite part of the run was at mile 3 when Chris brought the kids in the bike trailer to run with me. Elsa cheered, "go mommy, go mommy! " Gibson, in true Gibson form, fell asleep. So, here's a picture of the victorious runner! I actually am not as sore as I was SURE I would be. Tomorrow might be a different story...

Now, another story....We have some good friends who are moving far away ...we are sad to see them go. They have two girls and they have been very generous with their clothing and toys that they have outgrown. The other night I went and picked up the best gift from them ever! today, after the triathlon (I'm not sure how I still had energy) we set it up. Elsa loves it!! I'm glad there is still at least a month of good weather to enjoy it!

Here's Chris and Gibson relaxing while Elsa plays-what a tiring day!

Congrats on the 6 mile run!! That's impressive. I hope Elsa gets hours of entertainment out of the new toy :).
Good job running, someday I will do that, maybe. Fun for Elsa! Gotta love those hand me downs!!!
Nice Job on the run!! That was so nice of Heidi to share. Enjoy the big toy Elsa!
CONGRATS!!! What a cool thing to do. I'd pass out. :) And I disagree, swimming is WAAAAY easier than running...
Way to go, Audra!!! It feels great to accomplish a run like that. Although, Chris and Gibson on the blanket is more like what I've been accomplishing lately.
