milestones

On Saturday Gibson and Elsa each did something they hadn't done before!

Gibson rolled over!! He's been working on that for quite a while, and he finally made it. Here are some shots of the victorious 4 month old. He rolled from his back to his front, now maybe he get strong enough to roll the other way too. He gets pretty grunty on his stomach and doesn't like that as much.

Elsa opened the door that had the no-open knob on it! we are not as excited about this accomplishment, but it is kinda impressive. What she does is hang on the door knob like a monkey and swing a little until she swings enough to turn the knob and get the door open. I didn't want to take a picture of her swinging on the door knob, because I don't really want to encourage it, but this is the knob that's supposed to keep her out of our room.

yesterday we went to the fair parade and Elsa LOVED running for the candy. If any of you ever want to go to a parade with lots of candy, you should come here. Elsa got a bigger haul than Halloween and there was more candy left in the streets. By the end of the parade the kids only pick up their favorite candy because they have so much. They also hand out ice cream bars, otter pops, water bottles, and even a few stuffed animals were thrown this year! It was so fun to see Elsa with her little run out there filling her hands up and bringing to her bag. Sorry, I forgot my camera so I didn't get and pictures.

Today, however, we suffered the consequences of yesterday's candy. Elsa woke up and didn't want to eat. Well, after sitting with her and having her take a few bites she threw up. Maybe she really wasn't hungry. So, she and I stayed home from church. She really wanted to go to church and still made me put her "pretty dress" on. I had to explain to her that she was sick and couldn't go today. I'm pretty sure it was something she ate, because not shortly after she threw-up she was dancing, jumping, and singing. She hasn't thrown up since, so we're crossing our fingers (and hiding the candy).
*** I feel like I need to tell my version of the vomit story. Audra failed to mention that Elsa vomited all over my new suit pants. I just had them tailored. I sure hope dry cleaning will take out the vomit smell. Also, just minutes before Elsa vomited on me, Gibson pooped out onto my side of the bed. On most Sundays (for some reason we are all kind of crabby on Sunday mornings) this would have been cause for much frustration. I am not sure what made today different, but we were very calm about the whole situation. I mostly felt bad for telling Elsa she had to eat 10 big bites of breakfast before she could go and get dressed... since most of those big bites ended up all over me. Sorry, I hope this wasn't too gross for any of you. -Chris***

So sorry, yuck, lived that a couple of weeks ago, except we had it for 4 days, but it all made me laugh, cause been there, done that, isn't life grand.

Isn't that the worst? Lucy is usually a good breakfast eater, and one day she wouldn't eat but I forced her to, thinking it was a defiance thing and sure enough she puked. All day long. 15 times to be exact. Yeah, I felt like the worst mom ever.
