Cannon Beach

Since Elsa's asleep (read next post) maybe I'll catch up a little on some things that we did in Oregon.
We had a great time at Cannon Beach visiting Aaron and KaSandra. We stopped to see Aaron at work and he invited us for dinner at his restaurant that night. It was great to see Aaron, and he is doing really well. We got a photo outside of the Stephanie Inn where he works. Elsa is enjoying the complimentary salt water taffy.
We then headed to the beach. Elsa loved having free reign to play in the sand-kick it, throw it, and build. Kelly and Megan walked, wrote in the sand, and posed like The Little Mermaid on a rock (sorry, I don't have a copy of that photo).

Now on to the most amazing meal we have ever eaten. KaSandra and her neighbor were kind enough to walk the kids while Kelly, Megan, and I went to eat at Aaron's restaurant. The food was truly amazing-from the appetizer (Aaron told us there's another word for it that means 'excite the palate') to the creme brule and biscotti for dessert. I was a classic tourist, and much to the dismay of my sisters, took pictures of every course. Here's a photo of Megan's rack of lamb with polenta and other divine ingredients. Kelly and I opted for the VERY tasty local halibut over penne pasta. We even enjoyed sparkling cider "compliments of the chef". After the salad was served Chef Aaron came out and told us how all the food was prepared. I think I understood most of what he was talking about. Megan and Kelly didn't understand half of it "all of those fancy foods and fancy food words". If Mom had been there, she would have been crying by the time he was done talking. It was exciting to see Aaron in his element-he is an excellent chef and you can tell he loves what he does. I'll spare you all the photos of every course, some of the pictures where kinda blurry. (mostly because I was trying not to be TOO obvious while I took the photos).
Okay, after the beach we went to the wedding. Chris already blogged about that. Chris flew out from there, and we headed back home with our families.

We went to the park several times, and one time I actually took some pictures. I'm really not very good at pictures-but I'm trying to be better-Here's Elsa coming down the slide, and Gibson with Grandma and Grandpa.

We just had fun going up and throwing rocks in the pond, playing in the back yard, playing with Aunts and Grandmas and Grandpas. I also enjoyed watching some movies on 'ClearPlay'.

At the end of our trip, on the 4th, we headed for Robyn's house. We went for a drive, then a hike around Mesa Falls. Chris met us there on Saturday. We got pictures of the sisters, and the young cousins. (for those of you who check Crystal's blog, you'll recognize these photos).

We took Elsa for a walk in the gardens and to see the temple.

She always likes to "stop and smell the roses"

As you can see, I'm putting in less and less details. They say a picture is worth a thousand words...so I'll stop typing now. I realize that this is formatted strangely--I'll figure that out later. I'm just barely figuring out how to blog. What a strange word 'blog' and even stranger that it's a verb.

LOVE Elsa's hair on the slide. :)

just for info, the word blog is short for web log. I hope to see Aaron sometime soon. Elsa sounds ready to be on the potty, but kids are stubborn!

The two boy cousins are so cute. How did you manage to catch both of them smiling at the same time? Grandma Debbie
