This is a pictrure of Gibson at the reptile garden from our trip to South Dakota. He LOVED the snakes. We went to a dangerous snake show. Gibson was so relieved when he finally got to touch a snake. Audra started a post about our trip, but has yet to finish it. Stay tuned....

the toenail
A while back I took the kids to the church to look for Audra's lost keys. After our search we decided to run around in the gym for a little bit. Elsa got thirsty and went to get a drink in the hall. Of course, Gibson wanted to go too. On our way out, while I was opening the door, I opened the door onto Elsa's toe. She cried a bit, but she was pretty tough so I didn't think much about it. A few weeks later she showed us that her toenail started turning blue and she could lift it up. It was only held in place by a sliver of skin. She became a celebrity in her dance class one day when all the girls were sitting around in a circle and she showed them how far she could lift her toenail up. Finally one day her toenail came off. I am surprised she didn't name it. She did insist that she be allowed to sleep with it. Sleeping with a toenail does prove to be problematic because it is easily lost. It was quite the interruption to the bedtime routine having to look for a toenail every minute. Sadly, we didn't take any pictures of Elsa's celebrity toenail.

I was leery to read your post from the title, and I was right! Sorry, but that's a disgusting story. :) Good thing poor Elsa does not seem traumatized by losing her toenail.
Can't wait to hear about the trip.
And about the snake....I am so not a fan! You are a brave boy Gibson. You will love our place! Many kinds of snakes live here.
The thought of losing a toenail makes me cringe, and disgusting that she wanted to sleep with it. Addy probably would want to also, we find all sorts of random things in her bed that she put in with her. Snakes are also nasty, hopefully he doesn't want a pet one like Robyn's kids. Eww
Isn't it funny what strange things are so "cool" to kids. :). Way to be a start for a day Elsa! and I love "No Fear" Gib-man
The girls were very interested in that toe. HOw funny!!
