In this shot you can see a few of the back splash tiles and a piece of counter top on the floor. The tiles really tie all the colors together. The wall is similar to the light blues in the tile.
I got home from work today at 6:00. I went in to look at the vinyl. I decided a good test would be to lay down and see how it felt (I am a no shoes/sit or lay on the floor kind of person. A lot of people asked if I picked it up in Korea. I actually did it before Korea) Anyway, I was so tired from the the last few days/weeks that I fell asleep right there on the floor in the middle of the Kitchen. I only slept for about 20 minutes, but it was great!
It is sooooo wierd to see the kitchen coming along. It is actually starting to look like a real room. I can't wait to see the HUGE island in the middle.
Now here is a quick story to delay going to bed (well actually I just don't want to take the garbage out which I should do before I go to bed). I think blogging at midnight brings out its own flavor of a post. Anyway, I don't normally, well, pretty much never, listen to commerical radio. I can't stand commericals or the same five songs being played over and over again. I am pretty much an NPR, or my own CD kind of guy. However, this week I have had the pickup as my mode of transportation. It only has a tape player. My only tapes are Harry Potter Books, and I don't really like to listen to them on 5 minute drives. I have also been in the mood for something light as background noise since my brain seems overcrowded lately, so I have been listening to the radio. It is kind of a strange thing. Anyway, I heard a song on the radio and the voice sounded really familiar. I had a "driveway moment" waiting for them to announce the singer. It turns out it was O.A.R., a band my brother Josh introduced me to about six years ago. I have been really out of touch with music and I never realized they were so popular now. Back then they were more of a college band. If you ever want to be ahead of the music scene, ask my bro Josh. He always seems to find bands in the indie pre-major label stage. With that I should be off to bed. I am excited to post pictures of our cabinets tomorrow at midnight.
Oh... I hope you notice that the walls are partially painted. That is why I have been staying up late.

It looks so good! I remember re-doing our kitchen - its alot of work, but the payoff is great in the end. Hang in there you guys!!
I'm so excited to see your house!!! I admire all the work you're putting into it. I've got to plan a visit sometime... :)
I had that same linoleum put into my Ontario house, and loved it! It looks like things are really starting to come along.
