Dirty Dash

I guess I didn't get enough torture a few weeks ago, so I signed up for another mud run.  This one was the Dirty Dash and was closer to home.  It was a 5k and was nice and flat, with much easier obstacles, but with A LOT more MUD!!  Elsa and Gibson did the Piglet Plunge kid's run, which was also fun.  Here are the pictures!
We were on a tie dye team with one of my friend's from college and her friends. We didn't end up running with them because we were trying to hurry a little so chris would be on kid duty for too long. It was fun to see them and to have some team pics. We all wore tie dye and cheered for each other! I didn't get any of those pictures.  I'll have to pull them off of facebook.

Here are the kids showing off their "tattoo".  Our friend and her two kids joined us for the days' adventures.

Elsa paused to pose on top of one of the hay obstacles.  There were about 15 of these to climb over.  Gibson went over about 2 and then opted to run around.  I would put Elsa up and after a few she figured out how to get down herself.

There was this big long slip'n'slide type thing.  Gibson was not a fan of the sprinklers, so we bounced along together.
Elsa decided to brave the mud pit before the big finish!  She really liked it!

She did it!!  Her shoe even fell off in the mud pit!  I'm glad we were able to retrieve it.
Chris had a busy job of watching all 5 children and taking pictures too.  It was hot.  Very hot.  He did a great job.  The REAL problem was that he only got this one picture before the camera battery died and then he had to run and get another camera.  So, not so many pictures.  I wished I had one of those cameras that clipped to my head or something so you could see ALL.THE.MUD.  Anyway, this is the only picture he got of us at the hay bales.  Doesn't our friend Jen look totally ninja!!  I started doing that after a few.  So much easier!
Here's the kids having snack time while we ran.
We were so fast (well, at least faster than Chris thought we would be) that we had to stop so they could come throw water balloons at us.  They were not ready for us yet.

J said she would buy me lunch if I went down and in head first.  So, there ya have it!
It is VERY easy to swim and float in very muddy water!

It was a fun day.  I would recommend it to anyone!  A nice, easy flat course with do-able obstacles.  We had to help each other over 2 of the walls, but other than that, it was just muddy fun!!

I almost did that race (Billings?). A bunch of people from my work did it together, but things happened & we stayed here. Looks like it would have been fun.

Oh my goodness that looks like so much fun. I guess I am going to have to travel to find one, but sounds like it's well worth it. Love it when the kids get to play too!

Good job Elsa, no way I could get Addy to do that! Head first, that looked fun! Good thing you didn't do this one first cause then you might have thought the spartan race was gonna be easy!

That's pretty muddy! I am glad you had fun. 5K sounds much better than 8 miles! That's cool they had stuff for the kids too. Chris is a trooper for watching all the kiddos.
